WHAT DOES MY MORNING ROUTINE LOOK LIKE?

I strongly believe that consistency is key, that routine can bring lots of benefits, but, mostly, that there is no perfect or unique recipe to live a balanced life. I think that balance has a different definition for everyone and that the important thing is to find what works for YOU - starting with your morning ritual. The way you start your day can influence the rest of it; it is important to establish daily consistent habits to start your days on a good note!

Today I feel like sharing my morning routine which may change depending on my schedule, but still looks like that most of the time. I'm sharing it with you as an example only, not to influence you to follow the same ritual perfectly; what works for me might not necessarily work for everyone! But it might bring you some inspiration!

1- I wake up early; my alarm clock doesn't ring more than 10 times per year even when I have to wake up early. I go to bed early, enjoy my 8,9 or 10 hours of sleep every night and wake up by myself in top shape always before 7am. The first thing I do when I get out of bed: I make my bed! It's a habit I've had since forever; I do it automatically and it starts my day in an organized way!

2- My second habit is to take a big sip of water. Nothing better than that to wake your body up and give it the most essential element for its good performance.

3- I always have breakfast in the first hour after I wake up. It took me a lot of time to find a breakfast that worked for me; as a coach, there are obviously guidelines that I recommend to my clients in terms of how they compose their breakfast. But personally, I tried many types of foods, nutriment sources, portion sizes, etc., before I found a recipe that was satisfying, sustaining my workouts and regulating my hormones throughout the day. I eat the same thing almost every morning: mashed banana mixed with 3 beaten eggs that I cook as a crepe to which I add cinnamon with a handful of nuts or seeds.

4- I don't take lots of supplements and, again, as a coach, I have detailed guidelines and advices on supplement intake for my clients who would potentially need them, but taking vitamin D is part of my morning routine especially during the long winter months.

5- My morning routine also involves spending quality time with my pet: Mia the cat! I truly believe that getting love from your pet brings positivity and joy and that is at anytime of your day.

6- I then go on to checking my emails and some work stuff while I digest. I have the opportunity to work for myself so I organize my time and work hours (almost) as I wish which allows me to work from my computer.

7- Finally, I end my morning ritual with my own workout; I have a passion for powerlifting and I follow a strict training program. My schedule allows me to workout before lunch so I go to the gym 5-6 times a week about 2 hours after I wake up. It's part of my personal time to reach my own health and fitness goals. It's more than a habit, it's actually a way of living for me!

So there you have it! What my usual mornings look like! I also have a huge passion for music so I always listen to it when I work, cook or train.
